When should we tell our families?!

After almost a year of trying & a lot of hardships, we are finally pregnant with our first baby!! It will be the second grandchild for both of our parents 😊
My husband & I can't decide when to tell our families! 
I want to wait 2 1/2 weeks. My ultrasound is 2 weeks from today, & that weekend my family is getting together for my brother's birthday, & my in-laws are all getting together for family pictures. It would be nice to tell them all in person, & it would be nice to have my first ultrasound done!
My husband doesn't want to wait!! He wants to just call everyone & tell them the good news as soon as possible! And I'm finding that it's harder than I thought to keep this a secret 🤣
What should we do?? When did you tell your families??

You should tell the photographer you’re expecting! They could right before taking the picture say “Alyssa is pregnant!” Then you’d get the reaction photographed! I always tell family before the ultrasound... I can’t control myself 😂

We told both parents in person the night after our first ultrasound. I would have told them sooner had I seen them in person but they all live about 4 hours away. We had both sets come out to visit and see our new house; they thought they were coming out to help get us settled in! It was amazing to tell them in person

Just from personal experience it is completely up to what y’all are comfortable with. IF something was to happen and you miscarry, will you be sharing that with family and friends or keeping it private? 
My first pregnancy I told my family at 4.5 weeks and then miscarried at 5.5 weeks. Second pregnancy other than a few close friends, we didn’t tell anybody and then I miscarried at 8.5 weeks. I let my family know at the first sign of the miscarriage. Third pregnancy I took the test, my husband had just left for work and I made him turn around and come home. Then I immediately FaceTimed my best friend and told her. Then I didn’t tell our parents until I was 9w1d. And didn’t announce to really anyone other than close friends and family until almost 23 weeks! 
It’s up to you!! I have been very very open about my miscarriages and the long 4 year journey to our baby even on social media. I had another girl on here say that miscarriages and stuff like that is very private and she would never tell anyone. I think if you want to share your excitement about it with those people then you might be just as comfortable sharing your heartbreak in the event that something like that were to ever happen
Definitely not saying anything is going to happen to your sweet baby but you do have to think about how you’d feel if you told them now and something happened and how you’d want to handle that.

I would tell them asap but if you want to wait I wouldn't do it at an event for someone else bc they may feel like you're talking over and stealing the show.
