Aunt has me crying...

Kathleen • Mommy to three boys and twin girls.

A little back story is required here...

My mother died when I was eight and my grandmother adopted me but we lived with my aunt and uncle, along with their three kids. My aunt has been a mother figure to me, more so since my grandmother's Alzheimer's has gotten worse. We haven't always seen eye to eye like most families but she has always been there for me when I needed her.

Anyway, she messaged me out of the blue and asked if I was still being thrown a baby shower for the twins because the event was deleted off of Facebook. I told her that it was canceled because the woman that was throwing it for me had to cancel because of finances being tight. (No big deal because my husband and I had planned on buying everything that we need since the twins will be baby 4&5 for us, but our first girls). So she replies and says not to worry and that I will have a shower.

I don't know why it hit me so hard, but the idea of her throwing me a shower has me in tears. She is willing to handle all of it last minute when she cares for my grandmother and she just finished planning her youngest daughter's wedding that happened last week. I just can't with these hormones right now.

Just thought I would share.
