Should kids have homework/studying to do every night?

Why did you choose the answer you did? I feel like they go to school for 8 hours a day, constantly studying or learning. My kids then come home and do homework/study for at least another hour and half. Then they want to be able to play or relax. I understand and think they need a break, but sometimes it's hard time wise to let them relax much. There are other things needing done. We have sports practices, chores, baths, church, etc. I think teacher's should only send home things to do a few night's a week, instead of everyday.
