Falling for my best friend?

I am the only girl in a large group of guy friends. Ever since high school we’ve all been close, and I’ve been the little sister of the group. When I was a sophomore I met a boy who eventually became my boyfriend and I sort of grew apart from my guy friends (because it bothered my boyfriend that I was the only girl in the group) and only saw them on special occasions.

Flashforward to almost 4 years later my boyfriend dumped me and I reconnected with my guy friends, especially one of them, Andrew. He had been the one I was closest to and I opened up to him and another friend about how my ex used to treat me and what i learned from my relationship. He is very understanding and sweet and I never really saw him that way before. The more we talk the more I’ve noticed what we would want in a partner is similar to each other. He isn’t really my type, and he doesn’t look at all like a boy I would ever be into but I’m starting to notice he has a lot of traits that I would want in someone I would see a future with. I know there is no way it can possibly work right now, as I am going away for college, he’s a hardworking student who doesn’t have time for a girlfriend right now. I’m also dating someone else right now, which is more than a fling but we don’t love each other. He’s a very sweet and amazing boy but he is starting to show things that would be problems down the road like he isn’t the most affectionate person and we want different things in life. I feel like my ex broke my heart and my current boyfriend isn’t the most affectionate person, so my thoughts are going elsewhere. I can’t tell if I really am attracted to Andrew, or if I’m just lonely. I believe I should be single when I go to college, keep in touch with Andrew, and if something happens it happens. But I think I just wanted to vent for right now’
