How Long Should I Wait?

So I'm not a virgin but I'm super inexperienced. I had sex 5 years ago for a few minutes with a guy that was 3 inches (he said it was a birth defect 🙄) and I haven't done anything since.

I took a abstinence pledge right after I broke up with my first boyfriend because the church I was attending at the time told me it's the only way to protect my heart. A few weeks ago I decided this wasn't for me but I haven acted on it yet.

Even though I decided not to wait until marriage I still dont want to do it with just anyone. I know it's not gonna be first time but it still means a lot to me.

I've met the guy that I really like and I think I might want to sleep with him. It's still pretty early on though and I've heard guys don't take you seriously if you sleep with him too soon? Whats too soon? Is the 3 month rule real? I waited almost a year before sleeping with my first boyfriend.
