What’s your opinion on smoking marijuana when pregnant?

I haven’t smoked since I’ve been pregnant but I’ve read a lot of things and they all seem to contradict the other. Just wondering what your opinions are on it?

I don’t smoke anyway- but if I were, I’d rather not risk it. I don’t see a point in using something that hasn’t been properly studied so the effects are unknown. Like alcohol or giving up certain foods, etc. marijuana is one of those things I think is safer to go without until after. But that’s me

There isn't enough research on it. Not enough studies have been done, especially long term studies, to risk it. I'd think with us (Canada) legalizing it this month, it'll be a good generation before there is really enough studies done on it (that aren't funded by marijuana companies).

I smoked through my whole pregnancy  gave birth to a healthy 7lb boy now on my second pregnancy 35 weeks I’ve smoked whole time as well

I did it for the first 3 maybe 4 months. It helped tremendously with morning sickness. It was the only way I would get an appetite and more importantly keep my food down. I know a couple of people who smoked throughout their entire pregnancy and baby was perfectly healthy

Talk to your OB about it. i have not heard of an OB saying it's okay. I get some people do it prior to pregnancy, but now you have another person to think of... just because so and sos baby was fine does not mean it is okay--- also keep in mind unless you grow it yourself you have no idea what is actually in it.
If your going to do it---avoid in first weeks when babies brain and heart are developing.
Regardless, it comes down to you making that decision. Do your research :)

Me and my friend from college where heavy smokers. She got pregnant last year and kept smoking until she had to be hospitalized. The weed was making her crazy sick , she went to the hospital a lot bc of the weed. She stopped in the middle of her pregnancy and her baby boy is healthy.. But her pregnancy was extremely rough in the begging. Not everyone is the same but your better off just not smoking at least while ur pregnant.
