Can you ask to be induced?

I am 39 weeks tomorrow. I just made an appointment for 41 weeks! My doctor said if I get to that appointment then they will induce me asap. I really was not even thinking about getting that far being pregnant. Can I ask to be induced at 40 weeks? I’m due October 10th only 8 days away! I can’t imagine adding 7 more days onto my timeline. I love being pregnant but I really want my baby to meet her daddy!!

So honestly... i would wait until 41 weeks.  If you NATURALLY go into labor, it will be much easier on your body than being induced.  
 
Being induced via meds in a hospital take a lot of options away in regards to how you give birth.  It can make your labor harder as well.  
 
I’m not saying being induced isn’t an option, but this being my second go, I understand the desire to be done (I’m 35 weeks and there already LOL), but I was induced at 41 weeks and had a really hard time with it.

My OB said they wouldn't let me go past 40 weeks. This is baby #4 and I have had 3 previous inductions for medical reasons. I requested to be induced at 39+3 and they have booked it for me. Every case is different. See what they say. X

I would wait. Let baby come when she’s ready if she can. My dr is in a large practice so only has certain on call days, so we had to set my induction date for 3 days past her due date, and I really wish we could let her go a little bit longer. 
My mother has told me many times that her biggest regret with the birth of my sister (her one induction) was not giving her more time to come on her own.

Yup. I would normally would say hold off but I understand. I feel like death. And my husband leaves soon so I’m asking them to induce me right after my due date idgaf. Do what you want

I’m due the 10th also, doc is in no rush to get baby. Prayers as we wait impatiently!
