Small blanket in the crib?

Question

So my little guy sleeps in his own room, so far nothing but baby goes in the crib at nighttime.
I just dress him in a cotton long sleeve pajamas and socks.
But soon it’ll be colder and I’m wondering if I should do “winter pjs” like fleece with bare crib or just keep cotton pjs along with a little blanket.
We don’t keep our house too cold but I feel that just cotton long sleeve pjs isn’t enough.
Opinions please! 🙂

You could try a sleep sack or maybe some wool pjs? They also have footed sleep sacks/wearable blankets (Woolino and Halo make them). I think technically it’s safe for them to sleep with a regular blanket now, but my guy rolls around so much that a blanket wouldn’t actually stay covering him for longer than 30 seconds so we’re going to continue using a sleep sack until he learns to sleep in one spot.

If you’re worried about him getting cold I would put him in a sleep sack just cause a blanket might not stay on him all night. My son just slept over top a blanket last night for the first time and he loved it and slept like a dream. He’s likes the softness on his face.

My son is very mobile and my doctor said he’s fine to have a small blanket. We are doing it because he still relies on the swaddle to go to sleep and this is a compromise. I dress him warm so he doesn’t really need it for that and use a muslin blanket so he can breathe through it just in case.

Pediatricians day blanket is safe at 1 year which to me indicates it is likely safe for many babies several months before that. Surely not all babies are magically okay with blankets at one year!
When it gets chilly I plan on doing the same as you :)
