When did you start maternity leave??

With my son, i started a week before my due date because i was terrified of going into labor at work. He ended up not coming until a week after he was due, so those 2 weeks were a waste. I’m due on Halloween so I’m thinking about working until the 30th and if i go before then, oh well. 
When did you start your leave? And how long were you out? I can stay out for 12 weeks but am thinking about going back sooner.

I don’t get any pay for leave aside from what the state will give me through TDI (which I can’t start until baby is born). I originally planned to go until I popped, but I’m a server and my job is very demanding. I work ~10 hours straight without a single break. I’ve been lucky if I have time to eat or use the bathroom. I’m due 10/27 and my last day is 10/8. I figure if I can take the extra time to prepare, I might as well. As great as the tips are, the days were getting too difficult and I wanted to finally put my health before my damn rude ass customers. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm planning to start mine at 37 weeks, it's my first baby. I'm lucky I'm in UK and will have 13 months off for maternity leave

I worked up until I went into labor. I actually had a Medicare seminar scheduled for the morning my water broke, obviously rescheduled that. Work until labor, just take it easy.

Luckily I can work from home, so I plan to work until I go into labor. I’ll probably start working from home at 38 weeks. Then I get 12 weeks unpaid leave but I’ll probably only take 8 depending on how much we save up in the next 8 months.

I’m finishing at 35 weeks at this stage, but I may work until 36 as we have some things planned that week and I don’t want my team to struggle! I’m lucky in NZ I will have 22 weeks paid leave, and a further 30 weeks unpaid I can take if I want or go back whenever basically. I plan to take the whole year off ☺️

My doctor had to sign me off at 16 weeks. I’m due December and will be off until july 2019

With my first I left at 38 weeks because I was suppose to be induced. We didn’t actually get induced until 40 weeks. So I wasted 2 weeks and I was our for 8-10 weeks I wish I had longer but his dad left us with no more or anything. With this baby it will just depend on how I’m feeling. This pregnancy has been more painful and tiring then the last. Although with this baby I have way more savings I may only take off 8-10 weeks depending on recovery.

I’m pretty lucky at my job. I went out 4 weeks before my due date and I was out 12 weeks after. Paid a majority of my salary (maybe 65%) through disability insurance and I supplemented additional pay using my own accrued time. I enjoyed being out as long as possible.

I’m due Oct 10 and my last day will be Oct 12. I’m scheduled for an induction on the 17 if he doesn’t come before them.
