Unexpected C-section but it’s okay!!

8 days overdue I was ready to lose my mind! Why was I still pregnant at almost 42 weeks?! I know first pregnancy’s are always a little late or off but I never thought I’d be pregnant for so long 😩 I won’t go so crazy into detail but all I know is that my baby is here and I’m so damn obsessed with her!

My due date was September 15th, since nothing happened and I felt like I could run a mile they scheduled me an induction for Sunday night September 23rd. Every weekly appointment told me nothing! I never dilated on my own, my cervix was high and hard every single time and I was becoming nervous and frustrated! I just wanted her here!

We get to the hospital Sunday after a big dinner and a quick stop for a slice of pizza. When I got there my doctor checked me and still NOTHING no dilation, cervix high and hard 😩 my doctor turns to me and says “this is looking like Tuesday” i laughed and didn’t really believe her. The induction began with the liquid that’s supposed to soften your cervix (forgot the name) they gave it to me every 2 hours. After 6 hours I was a whole half centimeter dilated 😑 I think she even lied about it lol. They decided to try and get the balloon in and help me dilated quicker. The moment that balloon went in the contractions punched me in the face! I begged for the epidural which was instant relief BUT I was so damn itchy I wanted to rip my clothes off and scream! They started the pitocin as well, fast forward to 1pm Monday I was still only 1 cm dilated! NOTHING was changing! My contractions were going but nothing else was happening. The doctor told me I had a cervix of steal! 😡 as the day went by I became more discouraged and scared that this would end in exactly what I feared! 10pm came around and the doctor “stretched me” to 3cm they then put in a catheter that would check to see how

Strong my contractions were. At 11pm the doctor told me she would be as patient as I wanted or I had that choice of just having a c section, mind you 34 hours later no food and just ice chips I was ready to throw in the towel! I told her I would give it 1 more hour! During that hour my contractions STOPPED 😭 everything just paused, baby was completely fine but my body must have just had enough! Midnight came and the doctor came to check me and still 3cm cervix high and hard 😑 I made the decision that I could no longer keep waiting. The doctor was right Tuesday September 25th at 12:54am my baby girl took her very first breath!
