When do you think you should cut your little one off from breastfeeding?

I don't know how to feel about this. I  feel that if your child is able to walk and talk and ask for certain foods that continue to breastfeed would be weird? I mean when would be the best time to wing them off?

Probably nine months as I did with my son I felt like he was to old to still be on my boob

When you both are ready, I did it for 19 months and only stopped bc I wanted a few moths to myself before new baby came. It's not for everybody. I will do whatever is best for my children. Some people are weirded out by formula, jar food and cows milk...

My daughter self weaned at 17 months- I think I was more tore up about than she was 😆 if it were up to me I would’ve at least kept her on the boob until she was two.

My older daughter suddenly refused breastfeed around 9.5 months. With this one, I don’t know if I will last that long just because having two will be more of a challenge and I’m not overly opposed to formula. Whatever works for both of us is fine with me.

I always said I wouldn’t go past a year but wanted to make it to her first birthday.. well after about 12-18 months we were only doing it at bed time and then self weened at 21 months. Never thought I would go that long but it happened and I don’t regret it one bit. 
I’m so glad she didn’t fight to go longer though. I wasn’t going past 2 yrs. 🤦‍♀️

My kid went pass 2 1/2 years. My next I want to stop between 1-2 years.

I breastfed until I got pregnant with my second and weaned when I was getting too sick. My son was about 14 months at that time. The best time is when it works for you, your baby and your family. It isn't as weird as you would think to keep going and if I hadn't gotten pregnant I wwas planning to go as long as my son was still interested.

I love this question because for me with my first I was like “I’m going to breastfeed till he is a year and then continue to pump after” blah blah blah. Till he arrived and my milk never came in.... I was devastated. So I always tell people whatever feels right for you and baby and to not be upset if that’s a little shorter or longer than anticipated.

With my first, I weaned at 20 months. We were going through a lot of transition and it was purely for comfort at that stage. One day I just knew that it was the day to stop and it was incredibly easy! 
With my second, baby started self-weaning at 9 months and was all done at 11 months. Made me a little sad, but at least baby was eating and drinking well enough to not need formula as a replacement.
 All kids are different and I don't think it's wrong for a kid to nurse just because they can walk. They may still need it, for whatever reason and that's ok 😊
