A lot of movement 12 week ultrasound??

Question

Just wondering if it’s normal for the baby at this stage to be so active? I had an ultrasound today and the baby was turning flips and kicking sooo much. I didn’t know if it was a sign I’m not eating good foods? I’ve been craving sweets so I didn’t know if the food I was eating could maybe make the baby move more or if it’s normal for them to be so active at this stage

It’s very normal. I wasn’t expecting it at all, it’s crazy to see it on the screen! My baby is so active that I’ve had to have multiple scans because they weren’t able to get all the measurements done within one appointment

I kid you not, all 4 of my son’s limbs were SPINNING in different directions like helicopter blades. I was like “what the hell is it doing??” And my tech was like “I bet you anything it’s a boy and he’s going to be wild!”
Sure enough. He’s a boy and now at 27 weeks he kicks and punches the crap out of me all day long!

It’s completely normal, you have a happy swimming baby! My son was wriggling around so much at both his scans, so much so that they had to call us back for another one to measure the heart properly - him getting into awkward positions and doing all sorts of somersaults.

My baby was wiggling and waving throughout the scan and I wasn't able to eat any sweets or anything like that in 1st trimester 😊
