I'm currently 32 weeks and I just want to be as prepared as I can be when my baby arrives. I don't want to formula feed but if I cant breastfeed I'm not completely against it.

One of the lactation consultants I worked with recommended against it. The first few weeks of breastfeeding can be really hard. She thinks that having formula at home is too tempting. 
But if you don’t think it will be too tempting for you, you can always request formula samples for the formula companies, just to have something on hand.

Honesty, breastfeeding is terribly hard the first few weeks to a month or so.. if you really want to breastfeed than you should just wait it out.. if formula is right there on hand than you will so Quickly go for it.. one morning a few days after baby was born I was suuuper exhausted from feeding all night & felt terribly depressed about it I told my partner “I can’t do it, we’re going to buy formula today..” later that day/evening it’s like I got the hang of it. I didn’t end up buying it. It was great. My advice if you really want to breast feed is to hold off.. but if you do, that’s fine as well! My next one I’m doing half & half because my sanity needs it. I don’t think I can handle two under two. My lo is still breast feeding idk how imma mange

I planned to breastfeed so I didn’t have any formula in the house. I honestly didn’t even research it or have anything prepared other than my pump, breast milk bags, pumping bra, breastfeeding pillow, etc. 
WORST DECISION EVER!
I wasn’t able to breastfeed thanks to some serious health complications that I developed during labor, so my extremely tired husband had to go to the store by himself and try to pick out a formula for our son as soon as we got home from the hospital. It was so stressful and I cried so much every time I fed my son from a bottle because I felt like it was “poison” thanks to all the brainwashing I’d experienced. 
Anyway, my advice is to at least do research so you know which formula you’re comfortable with if it comes down to that so you don’t feel guilty. After I was strong enough to research formula I decided on an organic brand called Lebenswert, but it’s from Germany so you need to allow at least 1-2 weeks for shipping. If you are interested in organic formula the European ones are the best, so it might be a good idea to order a few boxes to get started if that’s the route you end up taking for whatever reason.

Breastfeeding isn’t hard for everyone. FTM of a 3 week old & he only had formula in the hospital. The rest has been a breeze. I just pump & put bottles in the fridge for when we go out or in the middle of the night for my husband to feed him. It may be easy for you too. 
I got 6 free sample cans & haven’t used them.

Nope. Breastfeeding was and is extremely important to me so I decided ahead of time that formula wasn’t an option. I obviously would have if I absolutely had to.
Breastfeeding is hard especially in the beginning and even though I knew I wouldn’t be tempted, I didn’t want someone else to see me struggling and think they were helping by giving her formula because it was “right there.”
We’re now 5 months into our breastfeeding journey and I have an oversupply of milk and my daughter has never had a drop of formula.

When we brought our son home from the hospital he went 11 hours without a wet diaper because I had supply issues. We didn’t know I would have supply issues, but luckily we had the samples Similac had sent us so we were able to give him a bottle right away. If not he could’ve suffered dehydration problems. I would have a can on hand just incase.

The free samples you can get by signing up on the formula companies websites are great! It was nice to have the ready to feed formula on hand just in case (I had one rough night where I used it). As a first time mom I also like having some for the diaper bag for when we go out just in case. Eased the anxiety of having to feed baby away from home to have a backup plan.

I would but just buy 1 brand and see how they do with it. Cause if u buy a lot of different brands and give em all to ur baby they will have constipaion problems from the changing formula. I know cause we had that problem cause we had a lot of different formula brands that we gave him plus breastmilk. And they get in so much pain from it and it’s just not fun to see.

I did buy a can just in case that way I wouldn’t have a hungry baby and have to go to the shops if I needed it, I ended up using it for 1 night only cause my nipples get so sore, bruised and bled that just the thought of breastfeeding that night point me in tears cause of the pain, but after that night I got nipple shields and haven’t needed the formula again, honestly it was a life saver that I already had bought it for that night
