How much water is ok?

How much water do you give your 9 month old breastfed baby? Mine loves drinking water from his sippy cup so I’ve been giving him a few oz. with each meal and a sippy cup to have in his playpen. Is there a limit on how much they should have? We still breastfeed on demand so I think he’s getting enough hydration through that but he just seems to really like water!

I’m breastfeeding my little one too, but pediatrician said it was fine to give water. I give my baby girl about 5oz. A day total. In a sippy cup with meals and if we are all going out for errands.

2oz daily is the recommendation. It’s not a lot but that’s to prevent baby from filling up in water and not getting enough milk and food for proper nutrition. At this age their tummies are still super little and milk still provides enough hydration (especially if breastfeeding).
