Insulin pumps?

I am getting very stressed out with gestational diabetes, metformin doesn’t seem to be helping as much as it should, and the doctor keeps pushing insulin on me.. it’s really causing me a lot of anxiety and stress and I know that’s not good for me or baby.. my question is this, how many moms have used insurance for an insulin pump to deliver insulin and how much did it cost? I really don’t think I’m going to be able to inject myself with the insulin with a regular needle because I have a phobia of injections in general and I don’t think I’d honestly be able to do this myself for the next 4 weeks.. anyone have advice? Experience? Id really appreciate it..

I had the same fear when I was told I needed night time insulin. I have a huge fear and cried until I met with the nurse and then cried when she was trying to teach me. 
She made me poke myself with one of the needles w/o insulin. I couldn’t feel it at all. 
The needle is super short. My numbers have improved for the most part but still sometimes are around 101. I have 9 more days until I meet my son, hang in there. You can do it. It’s super scary and it sucks hardcore. But, as someone else said, it’s amazing what is mamas can do!

I never took medication and went straight to insulin because it is better for baby. I have a severe fear of needles and injections. I have panic attacks and black out. The first time I gave myself the injection I blacked out after 45 minutes of trying, but did it. The second time it took 30 minutes to do it. Now I’ve taken the shots for over a month and it takes less than 5 minutes and I get scared, but not terrified like before. It is amazing how much strength us Mother’s can gain when baby depends on it. I never thought in a million years I’d be able to inject myself. 
Maybe try it and see how it goes?

I was put on insulin for the last two months of my pregnancy. I have a huge fear of needles mostly because my mom is diabetic and I watched her give herself shots my whole life. 
My doctor prescribed the insulin pens and the needle is so tiny. I couldn't even feel it.

I doubt the insurance company will pay for it. It's just too expensive for a short time. My dad has been a diabetic for years (10+) and they JUST approved for him to get the once a week injection. It costs over $900 for him tho get 4 of them. I'm pretty sure the pump is much more than that. You might have to find someone to give you the shot. Unless you can pay more than $900 a month out of pocket. 
TBT I went through IVF and the needles were huge that went into the upper butt. The insulin needles are soooooo tiny you'll barely feel them. I hope you can find something that works for you!
