Family drama over baby name

Ok so my husbands entire family was positive we were going to have a boy there wasn’t the slightest doubt in their mind low and behold we surprised them when we revealed she was indeed a girl and we told them the name we chose the same day we did the reveal. The middle name we chose Mae as in May because we lost a baby in May of this year. Well most of his family found that sweet. My husbands mother on the other hand immediately accidentally sent me a text instead of her friend (clearly she wasn’t paying attention) the text said “they aren’t naming her after her or me that’s seriously going to hurt me” husband then calls her and asks what she’s talking about and she full on broke down scream crying about how she thought we’d name the baby after her or his grandma and how we hurt her and no one cares. I was immediately pissed tf off because well who gets that selfish over something that was never discussed. Mind you his brother and sister have kids not one of them were named after anyone. My husband doesn’t have a very good bond with his mom and his whole family was shocked by the way she reacted. His dad called later that night to say to ignore her she’s on a roll that no one cares for her and she’s just being ridiculous, he said don’t feel like you have to change the name this is dumb. Has anyone else ever dealt with something like this? I don’t even want to be around my mother in law for turning a moment about our new baby girl into a pity party.
