Are you taking time off of work before maternity leave?

I was planning on going to work up until the very last second, but then I got nervous because January in Cleveland is no joke and I don't wanna get stuck in a storm and have my baby in the passenger seat like those chicks on YouTube. So in trying to decide when I should stop working? I am due jan29, but I predict the baby to come on the 15th. I was planning on taking off a week prior to my due date so I can have some alone time before baby comes. What's your plan?

I plan on working up until I'm due, as long as my body allows it. I just started a new job right after I found out I was pregnant & I am not eligible for fmla nor will I have earned much vacation time. So unfortunately, I'll have to keep working.

Luckily where I live, our maternity leave allows you to take the 4 weeks before your due date off as well. I actually wasn't planning on taking it - maybe just a week or so - since I'll only be getting 55% of my normal paycheck, but my boss actually said I should take it since it'll be winter and I'll be big and uncomfortable.

I'm planning on going until baby comes out. I'm due early December in Illinois, and I work about 45 minutes from home...so let's hope I don't go into labor on the way home one day! The superintendent of my school district was joking about how his wife's water broke while she was teaching. Let's just say I wouldn't be pleased.

I get 4 weeks before then 6-8weeks of materity and 12 weeks baby bonding time to be used within the year. Was going to work up until a week before but now at 22 weeks I'm already uncomfortable so I believe I'll be taking the whole 4.

I'm due the week after thanksgiving (Dec 6) so I'm thinking about starting my leave the week of thanksgiving and just using vacation time to fill in the first three days that week that we don't already get off for a holiday. Then the following week, first week of December will be my first official week of maternity leave. I get 6-8 weeks paid leave and the rest I am filling in with unpaid FMLA to take 12 weeks.  I was originally planning on working up til he comes, but the idea of going into labor at work almost an hour from home and the hospital is starting to scare me. Plus my husband and I carpool to work so he takes the car during the day after dropping me off I would have to wait on him to come back and pick me up or I'd be stranded at work! 😂😬

I teach and am due Jan 11th. I plan on working until Christmas vacation starts (sometime around Dec 20th) and then staying out. I'll end up with about 2 weeks off for vacation like everyone else but then I'll get a 3rd week off when everyone's back in school unless baby comes early like my mom predicts. She said my brother and I both came a week early!

I live in northeast Ohio too, due February 2, I'm working until the last second. My work only offers 6 weeks paid maternity leave so I want to take full advantage of those 6 weeks when my son is born. But my husband lived in Alaska for 3 years, and he can drive in just about any snow storms now, so he will be driving me to the hospital. Luckily it's only 20 minutes from our house and we won't have to take the highways which we both know are usually worse lol.

I'm going on early maternity leave Sept 1st. Not due until Nov 19th which means I still have 10 months after the baby is born. I don't have a safe environment for pregnancy and I have placenta previa so I will just take it easy =)

I'm working till baby comes hoping I won't go into labor while at work the hospital is 45 minutes away from my job so that makes me kinda nervous but I'm sure things will be fine
