Can I get my roots coloured?

I’m 16 weeks pregnant and have enough greys coming through at the roots to be noticeable. I have heard that you shouldn’t dye your hair when pregnant due to the absorption of a small amount of colour on the scalp. It’s my brothers wedding so there will be lots of photos and I’m wondering can I get my hair dyed brown at the roots or is it harmful to baby? Are there non harmful hair dyes?

Yes it’s fine. The chemicals in hair dye are not strong enough to do any damage. I was told this by a family member who is a hairdresser, and also by my midwife. I dyed my hair about 2 weeks ago

I’m planning on coloring my hair before I’m due. I would look into salons that use more natural based products, like Aveda salons. From what I’ve read, the amount of dye that is actually absorbed through your scalp is so minimal and there’s very limited research on it.

I've had mine dyed and will be again throughout my pregnancy by my hairdresser she is using keune so pure hair colour as it contains no ammonia and she makes sure not to leave it on any longer than necessary, I would just talk to your hairdresser about it.
