Unsafe Campus

Hey guys!!! On week two, my dorm was broken into, our dorm was vandalized, and over $100 of stuff was stolen. Now every two weeks something happens to our dorm door. Student conduct drug us through the mud and then just simply closed the case. So, I started a petition for us to get cameras, since my college doesn't have cameras anywhere. I was supposed to set up tomorrow in the lobby so I could explain my petition. However, they decided to email me tonight and told me they cancelled it and wanted to talk to me about my petition. I feel like my college is railroading me into dropping the petition. What should I do?
