Dating a Guy who keeps picture of dead GF?

So I’m dating this guy who apparently keeps a picture of his dead gf from 17 years ago. I’m not sure if this is a cultural thing ( he’s Mexican) but I find it a little awkward. I respect his past and the dead  but is this an issue? 
He also wears a necklace that she gave him before she passed away. So every time we’re intimate all i see is the dead ex gf’s necklace dangling from his chest.

It just shows what kind of guy he is that he can bond to someone like that. Don’t be threatened by her, she’s dead. Be grateful to her for teaching him about love.

Are you jealous? Not sure why it bothers you. Seems like he cared a lot about her. He’s obviously moved on since he’s with you, he’s just keeping her memory alive by having those things, what’s wrong with that?

My bestfriend lost her fiance 3 years ago. They had a life together,a 4 month old son. And he unexpectedly passed away. She was devastated. But she eventually found love again. I do know her current boyfriend isn't bothered by the pictures,gifts, their son,anything. Her fiance will always be in her heart, and her current bf doesn't expect her to just hide the feelings... 
You should support your man... think about if the situation was flipped..

Do you know why he keeps the picture, does he celebrate Day of the Dead because that could be a reason he keeps one? Also, I can understand why the necklace would be weird but I can also understand why he keeps it. Have you tried talking to him about it? Maybe ask him to take it off while you’re having sex? Just explain to him it makes you feel a little uncomfortable. I’m sure he’ll understand (hopefully).
