Has anyone started rice cereal?

Just wondering if anyone has started rice cereal yet?  My baby is almost 5 months old and I am exclusively breastfeeding. Over the past week he has been starting to wake up every 2-3 hours at night to feed, which means I'm not getting much sleep 😥 He used to only get up twice at night but now it's more like 3-4 times! 😣 his dr wanted me to wait till 6 months to start rice cereal but I feel like he needs it now😕

Went to the dr this past Tuesday, dr said don't give baby rice cereal until she can sit up in her own, I told the dr I was considered because she was waking up more often to feed, but dr said babies get what they need either through breast milk ir formula. I also read not to start feeding them rice cereal until they stare at you while you eat and make chewing motions or open their mouths when a spoon approaches. So I'm on the same boat with no sleeping at all. But it will get better, we can do this 💪🏼😁

I am not starting any food until he is 6 months. I dont want to cause any atomach issues.

I'm prob not even gonna start till 5 1/2 months. I'm gonna check with my pediatrician we'd though.

My mom gives my daughter rice cereal and I don't. She's going to the doctors on Monday so I'm going to talk to her about it. Honestly if your daughter says not to do until 6 months I will listen to them .
