when do I get my first ultrasound??

i went to the late hours doctors office last night to get an excuse for work and i made up stuff like my stomach was hurting or whatever just to get the excuse for work and she told me i was pregnant.. i went home and took two first response tests and i really am. i have no idea about any of this..? when do i go to get my first ultrasound? when can they tell how many and what gender? how do i tell my family! i fell like theyll be very disappointed in me.. 😔 im so lost i don’t know what to do. im only 16 years old, my mom knows and she accepts it and is fine with it. i didn’t mean for this to happen, but i know i can give this baby a really good life.

Call your obgyn or an obgyn and they’ll schedule it for you. Typically it’s when you are 8 weeks and they’ll first base that off of the first day of your last period. When you have your ultrasound, theyll be able to tell you how many they see. You’ll find out gender typically at your anatomy scan which is 18-20 weeks. Unless of course, you choose to do bloodwork, then you’ll find out at 12 weeks. I’m sure your mom will be able to help you with all of this. I’d tell the baby’s father ASAAAAAP and typically people will wait to tell family and friends when they are 12 weeks, with the exception of close family and friends. You can tell them when you are comfortable.

I’m currently seven weeks but my first appointment won’t be til I’m eleven weeks just cause that was the earliest I could get an appointment so that just depends on your obgyn, don’t expect to get there right away but be happy for the appointment. I also think gender is around six months.. take prenatals asap.
