By 2.5 he was daytime trained and 6-8 months later sleep trained.

I was going to start trying in August, my son turned 2 in September. He likes closing the lid and flushing but he's afraid to actually sit on the toilet. I talked to his doctor as well as my cousin about it. (My cousin is a nurse practitioner with 3 kids of her own.) They both said to wait a little longer. His doctor actually told me closer to 2.5 is the normal time that she sees for boys. Her daughter is 18 months and was doing good but all of a sudden started refusing to use it. So I'm a little more relaxed about it now.
