Bootcamp Blues

Hey y’all so my boyfriend is at MCRD Parris Island rn and I was just wondering if anyone who has gone through boot or has had a family member or s/o go through it? I know the culture as I’m going to be a Marine Corps Officer, however I was wondering if and of you or your loved ones hit a point where you just stopped writing home? One of my friends said she did that and now my boyfriend is doing it and I’m wondering if it’s just a “thing” for booters or if there’s some other reason. And should I continue to write him or give him space?
