Gestational Diabetes!?

I just got a phone call from my OB/GYN's after taking the one hour glucose test (25 weeks) saying I should take the test again (this time the 3 hour test) I'm so worried and scared! Could it still be that it's nothing or at least not diabetes!!...did any of you get it wrong the first time and fine the second time? How bad is having gestational diabetes!?

A lot of people fail the one hour and go on to pass the three. Did you doctor say what you number was? My doctors cutoff is 137. The regular cutoff is 140. I was 143. So close. I have my three hour next week. I'm trying not to stress bc I was very close to passing. If your number was higher like 180 and above then I would be a little more worried.

I had GD with my first and it was not too bad.  I was able to control it with diet (counting carbs/very few carbs) and my son was 7 lbs 6 oz.  After getting a hang of the diet, the most annoying part, for me, was just testing my blood a few times a day.  A lot of people I know fail the 1 hour and then pass the 3 hour, so try not to worry!  If you do have it - it'll be annoying, but not a huge complication!!  And you're more than halfway through :-)

I failed the one hour and passed the 3 hour with flying colors.  Don't stress. Even if it comes out that you have it, my dr said that its super easy to monitor these days.

This comment makes me feel so much better! I'm re testing tomorrow! They wouldn't tell me over the phone, but this gives me hope! Because everything was going so well, and doc said yesterday that baby looks fantastic (size and all!)...thank you for taking your time to reply!
