New to this PCOS idea and struggling

Christina
I was just diagnosed with PCOS yesterday.  My doctor has me on Mononessa for six months to bring my testosterone levels down and 500mg of Metformin to help regulate blood sugar and bring my weight down. He said after monitoring my hormone levels for six months we'll stop the Mononessa and use something like Clomid to "jump start" my ovaries.
I feel so lost. Especially since he didn't explain that Mononessa is birth control. I'm taking birth control so I can conceive?  I feel really broken right now. My SO is being so supportive but I feel terrible. How do you cope?  I need ideas.
