Anyone recently get a chest x-ray during pregnancy?

Question

My ob is ordering one for me due to testing positive on TB test... I was shocked when she told me my labs came back positive. I have no symptoms and haven’t been out of the country, so I’m praying I don’t have an active infection...
I’ve been reading 50:50 comments saying it’s safe/not safe and now I’m just freaking out...
Can I decline the x-ray? I’m in my second trimester...

Radiology student here: the amount of radiation used on a chest X-ray is soooo small. Your tech will make sure your uterus is protected by wrapping you in a lead shield. The chest X-ray is just two quick pictures (one with your chest against the board and one with your side against the board). I know it seems scary, but in the second trimester any risks are cut down considerably. Just think about all the women who work in this profession (like me). I’m around radiation all day (using lead shields) and I haven’t had any complications. You can refuse it if you want, but actually having tuberculosis would be more dangerous than a 2 second X-ray with extra protection.

Of course you can decline anything if you don’t want to do it. Id just really focus on the risk towards the baby if I don’t get the xray & what could potentially come from it if I decide not to get it.

You're OB knows you are pregnant and am sure if she or he knew it wasn't safe than they wouldn't let you do something that can harm your baby.

I had an X-ray of my whole spine the other day and I’m 24 weeks pregnant. Baby will be fine from a chest X-ray and they will shield your abdomen for a chest X-ray anyway. The possible infection from TB is worse than the risk of a chest X-ray.. you get more radiation on a flight or spending the day outside in the sun than you will from that X-ray. (I’m an X-ray tech so we learn all about this in school)

I had a chest X-ray during pregnancy 15 weeks they said it was safe they wrap a thing around your belly so it’s not harming the baby I’m bot 22 weeks and baby is fine but you can also say you dont want to if you don’t feel comfortable

They’ll cover your belly to protect baby from radiation but it’s safer to be sure you don’t have an active infection that could be harmful compared to the low risk of 1 x-ray.

I had one like a week ago because my heart rate was 210 I think it's perfectly safe they just lay this vest over your stomach.
