I think most breeds are totally unnecessary, but there's not much that stands out about this one. Have you seen a pug grunt just trying to breathe or a german shepards hocks yeild? Ugly doesn't always come in the form of looks to me.

I had a firefighter neighbour
 and he had one!  She was the cutest thing and I don’t care what anybody thinks about that breed!
