Vaginal dryness

So I randomly experienced vaginal dryness yesterday when bd. I haven't had this for as long as I can remember and it was weird because we had plenty of foreplay and I was in the mood. I'm in my green fertile period but I'm assuming this dryness is not a good sign. Any thoughts on what might cause this?
