Bassinet attachment on stroller/pram, is it necessary?

So we plan on getting a redsbaby pram. It’s $100 extra for the bassinet which isn’t bad. However the pram seat itself goes completely flat so I don’t see the point of the bassinet besides finding it cute and baby has extra space to stretch out. Just wondering if anyone used a bassinet attachment and if you found it useful?

We used the bassinet for the stroller every day. For walks, trips to town/mall, great for sleeping in when visiting the in-laws (have the uppababy vista that’s approved for overnight sleep). And it’s WAY better for baby’s back than to sit in a car seat when out walking. Can’t understand how people choose not to have a bassinet.

If your stroller goes flat I’d skip the bassinet

My stroller has a seat that goes flat, but I LOVED my bassinet and used it every day until he was able to sit up. It is nice to not have to worry about strapping them in. They can lay flat, and be bundled up easily in cold weather and much cooler in hot weather. 
I walk a lot, and I consider the bassinet one of my favorite baby items.
