Please give advice first time TTC this month is out first time

Today is my 10 or 11 dpo I have taken a hpt getting a bfn I wasn't trying 5 yrs ago when I found out I was Prego with my son this is all new to me. My af isn't due until the 31 or August 1st. I had my annual gyno appointment and she did the pap and a clervix check. If I was pregnant couldn't she have noticed from giving me a cervix check? She knows we are TTC and then at the end I my appt a said see you in a month or two. I'm confused :/
