Bacterial Vaginosis?

I just found out I have it. What causes it? She didn't explain to me very well. I've seen a few women talk about it with pregnancy. It doesn't mean pregnancy right? 
 Any tips?

Answer

It's from an overgrowth of a certain type of bacteria. It can be more common if pH changes and sex can cause pH to change because the vagina is acidic, however sperm has buffers in it so it brings the pH up.
