Paper too long ??

Just over heard someone freaking out because they are unable to cut their paper down to meet the guidelines requirements.
They have 16 pages when the professor is asking for 8-10 
When I write I know I am barely able to meet the requirements I right about 7 1/2 . What is y’all case ?

Ugh I feel you! I remember when I had to write a research proposal (10-12 pages) my senior year, and people were complaining to the TA that their proposals were too long. I was like “bitch mine is barely 4 pages” 😅😂

I struggled so bad to do a 16 page paper my last year. Even papers that only needed to be like .. 8 pages I could barely get there without adding a bunch of fluff.

I dont do more work than I’m required to. If my professor asks for 7-10 pages they get 7 pages. As long as I’m getting good grades I’ll keep just meeting the limit. If I’m not getting extra points or something for the extra work it’s not gonna happen. I can think of a million other things I’d rather spend my time on than writing extra pages for my paper🤷🏻‍♀️ my gpa was a 3.8 when I got my associates in Criminal Justice plus I was on the honor society. I’ve always been around people who say work smarter not harder lol I guess it’s stuck with me. I’d rather have a 7 page paper with good info than a 15 page paper full of bullshit I added to make it longer.

I mean, if you’ve done enough research you should be able to come up with more than enough pages on a topic. In order to get something that’s brief/well worded, I usually start long then work my way down. It seems like if you’re having trouble meeting the limit, you’re probably focusing more on the requirements than the actual topic of your paper.

I always go over bc I am good at bullshitting papers. Once I start I almost can't stop lol but I do that on purpose just in case the stuff that I actually need in there is enough to meet the requirements. Usually I can take out some bullshit paragraphs at the end if I need to
