First appointment at 8 weeks

So at my doctor they don’t do any scans or anything at the first appointment that will show me that the baby is doing okay. They said they will do bloodwork, take family history, and answer my questions. So what will I know?! I just can’t wait another 4 weeks it’s killing me! Will the bloodwork at least tell me something? I will be close to 10 weeks and still no US or heartbeat to see 😞 can anyone share their experience at first appointment?
