Rant...

Ashlyn

Not sure where to put this but I just need to rant for a minute...

You know the saying bad things come in 3's? Yeah, no... for me they come I'm 5's... sometimes 8's.. It all started last month but I won't get in to those. I work 20-25hrs a week, go to school full time, have a 5 yo at home, and my husband works nights currently recovering from a cervical disc replacement.

So this is supposed to be finals week before I start my last clinical rotation for histology. Last week I get into a car accident. A pick up truck towing a trailer tried to cut across a highway I was on but didn't make sure the coast was clear. I hit the trailer head on going 60-65mph. Spent a few hours in the hospital, no serious injuries, mainly bruising and a sore back. My instructors at school have been wonderful letting me reschedule my finals. My boss at work has been understanding of the time needed off work. Well here we are 7 days later, the PD still has not posted the police report online, the insurance company still has not picked up my vehicle from the impound lot to get an estimate of repairs (even tho it's totaled), the bank with my car lean can't close out the loan so I can get a new car until they have the police report and insurance info saying it's totaled, my attorney can't budge either.

I have a project that was due 3 days ago at school but was given more time. Problem is I only have until the end of this week. I worked on it Monday. Tuesday the building was closed. I went this morning but the building was closed all morning and I had an exam this afternoon. I plan to be at campus all day Thursday. Friday I have a Dr appt at 930 and 11am and the school building closes at 12 again!

I briefiely spoke to the program director about my concerns this afternoon and he completely bypassed all of them to say that "you should show more professionism when speaking to an authority figure. From what I am being told you were out of line this morning when you learned the campus was closed until noon."

1) I'm in pain and frustrated.

2) I drive an hour one way to campus so the option to just go home and come back isn't going to happen.

3) I only have this week to get caught up on school work and the building is closed half the week.

4) the person who answered the door to tell me the building was closed completely lied! She said I told her "Fuck" in a very loud manner.

5) yes, I was frustrated that I couldn't get in the building and had no where to go. Yes I said "Fuuuuuuuh" at barely a whisper and under my breath and let out a deep heavy sigh as I turned to walk away.

6) there were 3 other class mates who showed up this morning trying to get in the building to study who actually drive 2 hours one way for school!

So I sit in my car until 1030am then head to my Dr appointment. It's a chiropractor who supposedly has a M.D. in house in case patients need injections or meds or something. Turned out I end up seeing a nurse practitioner instead. I gave her my full medical history including pre-existing conditions. She asks how the accident happened. Apparently "a truck towing a trailer pulled out in front of me and I hit it head on going 60-65mph" is code because she immediately asked me if the primary damage to my car is to the passenger side!?!?! No, no it is not. I hit them head on so it's to the front of my car. "Oh so like the tires?" Uh....No, like the hood was crumpled into my windshield and my engine mounts and body frame are broken/dented and my headlights were laying on the ground.

"Ok!"

On my way home the rental car company calls to say I need to give the rental back tomorrow because the insurance company has my car as drivable.... uh, no.... you better extend the rental agreement buddy....

I called my therapist to have a session since I'm struggling managing my stress/anxiety but she doesn't have any openings this week. I'm so beyond frustrated I just want to lay in bed and not wake up until all of this is over.....
