Baby chomping down on nipples?!??

Let me start by saying he doesn’t have teeth yet, so I know it could be much worse. BUT this crap still hurts! He bites down hard ever single time he’s done with a side. And I feel like he’s too small to understand when I scream in pain that he should stop. He just stares at me...still chomping down. My nipples are so sore. Anyone else getting attacked?!? Lol

Yes! Not often thank God but last week was especially bad, my nipples were painful for about 4 days. I don't know what I'm gonna do when he does start to get teeth.

Mine does the same... and worse.. she has colics so every time she is eating she bites... my nipple is so sore.. but I do recognize that the nipple cream helps a little bit... breastfeeding is definitely a challenge...

Not my nipples, but she grabbed my finger and put it in her mouth to chew on and the second she bit down...YEOW!

I’ve read that when they do that, you should calmly pull them off and say something like “we don’t bite when we’re nursing” and then take a break. They could find screaming amusing 😒

I give my son a teether before nursing to soothe his gums. Of he chews on me then I just unlatch him without saying anything, then wait a minute, relatch him and smile so he knows my milk and my smiles are saved for good little boys who don't bite mama lol

My son did that! 😫 My daughter is bottle fed though but she straight up slaps me in the face and scratches me when she grabs at me lol

Agree with pp. Stop the dramatic screaming and simply unlatch baby and say we don't bite. He is probably trying to convey that he is done or may be starting to teethe. If it is teething, it is better after they get teeth honestly. They want the pressure on their gums now as the teeth move towards the surface, not once they break through.
