How long did it take?

I was admitted to the hospital last Saturday, 10/13/18, at 26 weeks, contracting with a bulging sac and dilated 4cm.  I've been here just over a week and Dr says I'm now 5-5.5cm dilated.  Although it would be ideal to wait until 32 weeks to deliver (I'm on hospital bed rest)...5cm seems like a lot.  Just wondered if anyone else has been in my shoes and what their experience was like?

My water broke at 29+2, kept on bed rest and continuous fetal monitoring. My doctors hoped I would last till 34 weeks but had emergency c section at 30+ 1 because my baby’s heart rate was flat lining. My doctor had mentioned on average if you are contracting or water breaks most women Will deliver within 8 days. But every day your baby stays in the womb is like 3 days on outside world so each day you can keep your baby in is win!

Everyone is different. It could take 1 day/ 1 week or 4+ weeks. Take one day at a time. I went to the hospital at 24+5 weeks, 1.5cm dilated. My water broke at 27 weeks and my baby girl came 4 weeks and 2 days later at 29 weeks exactly.
