I’m East Asian, specifically taiwanese. My boyfriend is Jamaican & Guyanese but his Jamaican side of the family doesn’t want him to be or live with me because they don’t like that I’m “Chinese”, aka that I’m not Black & muslim. We both treat eachother very well. He currently lives with me because he was living with his aunt before she suddenly kicked him out then moved away (we’re 18 and 19). He works full time and pays for a lot of my stuff, but he’s a part of the family now. My parents do things like bring him on family vacay or a basketball game, my Dad just gave him his old laptop because he got an upgrade. It just really bothers me that they would judge my culture and intentions and faith without even knowing or meeting me. Has anyone else experienced this or have any words of wisdom?
