Leaving crock pot on while not at home?

So, I really want to get a crock pot! With the colder months coming I see so many delicious recipes I wanna try. The only thing that scares me is leaving it on all day while I’m at work. Is it safe?! I work almost ten hour days so having dinner pretty much ready when I get home would be so helpful but it also makes me nervous to leave it on for that long! Any one have any experience?!

Yep, that's basically the whole point of a crock pot. I dont know anyone that only uses it on weekends when they're home to attend it all day long. Throw it in the pot, plug it up (important lol) and turn it on (also important lol). I've forgotten the last 2 steps more than once before 🤦‍♀️

I've done it a lot and never had a problem for 8-12 hours, just make sure theres enough liquid and keep it on low.  It's a lifesaver!

I have the Wi-Fi enabled crockpot and LOVE IT! You control it right from your phone when you’re away from home!

That’s the point of having a crockpot lol! I do it often and never have had a problem. ☺️

Yes just make sure it’s in a totally safe spot. No paper towels or anything around that could catch on fire or melt. (Fire is highly unlikely but being too careful won’t hurt) Also make sure it’s in a spot where no babies or kids could pull the cord and get scalded.

I do it all the time. So did my mom and my grandma lol. I’m pretty sure that’s the whole point of a crock pot. Just make sure the outlet is good and that there are no dish towels or things around the crock pot

They’re designed for that very purpose. Keep it on a bench space clear of any curtains or soft furnishings, cookbooks etc. I don’t see it as any different to having your fridge plugged in all day
