RAT NEEDS HELP!

Okay long story short someone I know bought the rat for their ball python the snake will not eat it. The owner of the snake decided he will just let it starve so I said I would pay double for what he paid for it. I cannot keep the little ratty but I need help on what I can use to cage him for a a week while I can find him a home! What should I feed him? Do they like water from bottles or bowls? I have a pet hamster so I have extra water dispensers!!!

I’m scared he will chew through a plastic rubber made container 😭
