Infected nipple piercing?

So, I had my nipples pierced for over a year. I decided to take them out a like last month. This morning I woke up and there was like a large pimple like thing on one side of my nipple, like where the piercing used to come out from. So, I decided so try and squeeze some of the puss out. Well, when I squeezed it the puss came out of the middle of my nipple like where milk would usually come out of? Has this happened to anyone else before? Kinda tripped me out. 😬
