Toddler potty training seat?

Question

What does everyone recommend for a boy? Does it even make a difference if it’s a boy vs girl? Is it best to have a seat that goes on the real toilet, or a training seat that’s a separate unit that goes on the floor so he can reach it himself? Or maybe both? So confused! Help!

I would buy both a seat for the toilet with step and a normal potty you can move around. Both my boys didn’t like using the toilet till they master using the moveable potty 1st..

We have the baby Bjorn potty that's low to the floor, it's $20. We started potty training at 14 months and it worked great, she still uses it at 28 months now. I bought the $8 or $9 dollar seat for on top on the big toilet at Walmart and it's worked great as well.

Personally I hate potties. I would either go for a seat that goes on your toilet seat or buy a toilet seat with a toddler seat right in. I have one and I love it!

I have both a moveable potty and a toilet seat, he prefers the toilet seat but we’re still only playing around with the idea of using the toilet, he’s not really potty training yet. His daycare teaches boys to lean forward when they pee so no matter what they’re using the pee is going in the bowl. He’s watched them enough already that he’s been leaning too when he sits on the potty.

My kids both hated sitting on the big toilet but I found a toilet seat with an integrated smaller seat for kids that they seemed ok with. My daughter had a little potty that looked exactly like the big toilet that she liked and for my son we got a urinal that either sits on the floor or has some hooks to hang it on the wall. That has worked really well for him and he’s happier standing to pee.

We have one that goes on the actual toilet and bought him a stool so he can get up and down. 
Most come with a little guard for boys so the pee doesn’t shoot out !
