Umbilical hernia... anyones LO have one?

My son has what i believe is an umbilical hernia. He has a drs appointment first thing in the morning to look at it. I just wanna know about how everything went for your LOs. His bulges out all the time not just when hes crying (which concerns me) is that normal? I havent pushed on it bcuz im not a dr, but i have felt it and it isnt hard or anything. Its a pinkish red color too. Im just freaking out even though ive read that theyre typically harmless. Any experience/advice you have is appreciated. A pic of it is below (taken yesterday, not much difference today)
