Baby Crib Mattress??

Question

My cousin is buying us our crib& changing table for our babyshower, Butttt she’s Only getting me the Crib and changing table NOT the mattresses for either one. I’m a FTM and I don’t know how to choose the mattress for both items. What do you guys recommend? I’m Looking for something Affordable and safe for my babygirl to sleep on if she’s comfortable laying on her belly

The mattress for a crib is about $70 for a good brand and waterproof. I would just check our the Serta, Safety 1st, or any of the top rated ones on Amazon. The changing pad, doesn’t have to be fancy, they are just going to lay there for a few minutes while you change then. I recommend to get it waterproof though cause you will have leaks and poo on it and it is easier to clean than foam ones. I also recommend getting 2 waterproof covers for the bed, it made accidents super easy to clean, especially poop, vomit, when sick or leaks from diapers in the middle of the night. The covers made it so you just take them off and throw in wash, vs having to sanitize and scrub the area before changing the sheets.

Pretty sure ours was the dream on me brand around $70. We did a cheaply changing pad from amazon as well and a waterproof/wipeable cover from target. We didn't want to spend a whole lot and just read the reviews.
