6 week peak grumpiness?

My 6 week old just suddenly started getting really grumpy.. usually about 6pm for a couple of hours. Sometimes I can’t calm him down at all.. sometimes I can pump an extra couple of ounces (after he’s already ate) and it’ll calm him down. But usually he won’t won’t my boob or his passie and he’s screaming his head off. Is this a growth spurt or is It maybe colic?

Yes same! I downloaded the app wonder weeks and it explains what baby is going through week by week and how they are growing and changing! They have a huge developmental leap around this time which can be very overwhelming for them- head is growing, organs, vision and senses are heightening and changing... it explains it can cause more crying and increased hunger!

Same thing happened with my little guy around 5 weeks. Google the “witching hour.” His pediatrician told me to try probiotics for him. It’s just a liquid that you give once a day. He is now 7 weeks and has had much better evenings!

Just went through the same thing! My little girl would cry so much I thought something must be wrong! She’s turning 7 weeks tomorrow and has been back to her calm happy self for a few days now

Yes! My very chill baby got super fussy around week 5-6 but now is 8 weeks and back to his normal mellow self!

My son has started doing that this past week. He has been screaming on his dad every day when he gets home from work and acts like he cannot get enough food. He’s just now 4 weeks old.

Same exact thing is happening with our little guy! We feed him like crazy in the evenings before bed. I also read that the peak crying spell is from 6-8 weeks old.
