Why can we not "twist" when we are pregnant?

Uuuh, this will be a problem for me!!!! If I don't twist to stretch my lower back a few times a week, it gets super tight and leads to sharp pain every time I take a step. And that pain is WITHOUT being pregnant. If I can't stretch it and I'm pregnant?! That'll be bad...

Try it out. See why you can't do it. It physically hurts you lol. I've done it once or twice by accident when I've just moved the wrong way. Whole lotta pain.

Deep abdominal twists (like in yoga poses), backbends, and excessive compression of the belly are not good for baby. Gentle twisting (like wiping or shoulder checking) are no problem.
