I am 5’3 and weigh around 190 pounds. My BMI is 33.48. I have PCOS and do not have periods or ovulate. We have been trying to conceive for over a year now and went to the doctors for a referral to a fertility clinic with the aim of starting on possibly Provera and Clomid. I am aware that for

<a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a> I would have to lose weight and get my BMI under 28, but have any of you ever had any experience of being refused a referral for treatment such as

fertility medication or surgery to remove the ovarian cysts, due to your weight? I didn’t think there was a weight restriction on these treatments. My doctor is generally quite unhelpful with fertility and just told me to go on weight watchers. Even when I suggested Metformin, I was just brushed off. I am also under 30 so was also told ‘I have plenty of time!’ I am currently trying to lose weight but it is definitely not easy due to chronic fatigue as well as PCOS. Just wondered if any of you thought it might be worth a second opinion because of course we are devastated. Might be worth mentioning that I live in the UK if that makes any difference at all to procedure etc. Thank you xx
