Do you think tampons cause cramps?

I have had awful cramps for years - to the point of throwing up from the pain.  I started using a menstrual cup at the beginning of the year and now I need to pay attention to my cycle and start using the cup a few days leading up to it because now I have NO WARNING!  No cramps, stomach problems... I don't even feel bitchy beforehand anymore.  Is it possible that somehow tampons worsen PMS symptoms?  Anyone have any similar experiences??  Just curious!!

There is a theory that, by irritating your cervix by placing bleached fibers so close to it, you do actually alter your cycle and the symptoms of it. Almost every person I know who has switched to a cup or reusable pads has reported a significant improvement in cramping, flow, regularity, and general pms.

Yes, they can. I have found that if it is pushed in too far and touches my cervix, I will get horrible cramping. My mom is the same way. After insertion, stand up and give the string a little tug until you feel resistance. That's how I make sure it isn't in too far.

I think they make mine worse... I've been considering a menstral cup bc I've heard they are better

I totally agree. Usually day 3 of my period I have to wear a pad cause the pressure from a tampon becomes way to much. Could someone inform me on the cup? Iv never looked into it but this post makes complete sence.
