Would it be ridiculous if my boyfriend left me over social media?

We have been together almost two years. We both don’t have it but I want it. Every time I mention wanting it he asks why and gets all weird about it. But I want to stay in contact with friends and it’s not like he wouldn’t be able to look at it. He hasn’t said he would leave me but it’s a fear of mine. I don’t know. Would it be ridiculous? We both said we wouldn’t have it awhile ago because it just causes drama although we have never had drama becauae of it. Plus, he’s on it all the time, just doesn’t have accounts. He follows people on YouTube and then looks them up on their Instagram and Twitter to folllow what they are up to and he follows sports teams. But he said it’s different because he doesn’t post. But isn’t it like the same thing? *i should clarify that he doesn’t have an account just searches people or companies
