Diarrhea really a sign of up coming labor?

I have been on the constipated side normally ..... I've dropped and lost some of my mucus plug about 2 weeks ago..... I've been having period cramps but they haven't been hard enough to push me into active labor.... So today I woke up and had diarrhea...... Anyone else have this and go into labor within a few days???

I've had diarrhea for probably 3-4 weeks now at least every other day and I'm 38 weeks with no baby yet! Doctor said its normal and CAN be sign a labor, but can also just be a normal part of the end of pregnancy. Bummer. Good luck! I hope it is a sign for you!

They say diarrhea is a sign of labor because having excessive diarrhea causes you to dehydrate & your amniotic fluid to decrease which can cause labor. Drink plenty of fluids & keep yourself hydrated. According to my Dr, constipation & diarrhea is common since your intestines are all squished up. Goodluck!
